Getting Around in Comfort and Style
City Transfers
For transfers within Nairobi or other urban areas, we provide modern, air-conditioned vehicles designed for comfort and convenience. Depending on the group size and preference, this includes:
-
Toyota Noah – spacious and reliable for small groups or families.
-
Mercedes V-Class – premium comfort with luxury finishes for guests seeking a more refined city transfer experience.
-
22-seater coaches – perfect for larger groups ensuring everyone travels together with ease and comfort
These vehicles are ideal for airport pickups, hotel transfers, or journeys between city destinations.
Safari Vehicles
Once you leave the city and venture into the wild, your experience shifts to vehicles purpose-built for safaris.
-
4×4 Land Cruisers with Pop-Up Roofs – Our 4×4 Land Cruisers with pop-up roofs are the classic choice, giving you elevated views and the freedom to stand for photography during game drives. These vehicles are built for the bush, with specialized suspensions for rough terrain and two-way radio communication for safety and coordination. They do not have air-conditioning, as their open design allows for airflow and a closer connection with nature.
-
Open-Sided 4×4 Safari Vehicles – In some parks, particularly during fly-in safaris, you may find yourself in open-sided 4×4 vehicles. These are widely used within private reserves and offer an even more immersive experience, with unobstructed views and the same rugged build and safety features as our Land Cruisers.
Domestic Flights
Kenya’s safari circuits cover vast distances, and flying is often the most efficient and comfortable way to reach the parks and beach destinations.
-
Scheduled Flights – Scheduled flights, operated by trusted carriers such as SafariLink, Mombasa Air Safari, and ALS, connect Nairobi with safari destinations like the Masai Mara, Amboseli, Samburu, Laikipia, and Tsavo, as well as coastal gems like Diani, Malindi, and Lamu. Most of these routes are flown with Cessna Caravans or similar light aircraft, designed to land safely on bush airstrips.
-
Private Charter Flights – For those seeking exclusivity and flexibility, private charter flights are available. Whether you’re flying as a couple or a larger group, these charters allow you to set your own schedule and fly directly into remote airstrips.
-
Beach Connections – For those extending their safari to the coast, airlines like Jambojet operate comfortable, larger aircraft (such as Bombardier Dash 8 or Boeing 737s) between Nairobi, Mombasa, Diani, Malindi, and Lamu.
What to Expect as a First-Time Traveler
Travel in Kenya often combines both road and air. In the cities, you will enjoy modern, air-conditioned vehicles. Out in the wild, expect rugged 4x4s without A/C — designed not for luxury interiors but for comfort, safety, visibility, and the adventure of being immersed in nature.
On domestic bush flights, baggage allowances are limited (generally 15–20kg in soft bags), and airstrips are often grass or dirt runways right in the middle of the parks. These flights are short, scenic, and part of the safari magic, offering breathtaking aerial views of the landscapes you will soon explore on the ground.
